Make Back to School Eco-Friendly

Creating an eco-friendly school experience is an uphill battle filled with paper, plastic, disposables, and consumables.  This will be the 5th year I have had to buy school supplies and the 5th year I have had to find alternatives to buying everything new each year. REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE REUSE When I first review the list each year, I pull out all the old school supplies I put away for the summer.  Before I go out and buy anything new, I check to see what is in reusable condition from the previous year.  Plastic folders have stickers removed, crayons are put...

Over the years I have started to use vinegar in all aspects of my life from cleaning to medicinal uses!  Turning Scraps into Treasure I started to make my own Apple Cider Vinegar...

Just What is Eco Friendly?

When you hear the word eco-friendly, what does it mean to you? To mean, it means the item was created with the Earth's best interest in mind, without unnecessary or harmful chemicals and can be either recycled or composted when it is no longer useful.  According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary,  Eco-Friendly: not harmful to the environment: not having a bad effect on the natural world   Now ask yourself WHY eco-friendly IS important.   What do you want to get out of this world?  Why is our planet worth protecting?  How are the items we, as humans, use affecting our planet?   When we...
